Today’s a resting day, so what do we do to unwind?
Stay in bed as a long as you want or need (at least Leen, as Jan is an early bird). Have a relaxed breakfast, and then we do some shopping (yes we could do this more efficiently).
At noon we prepared a light lunch with potatoes, chicken, and peas.

In the afternoon, we reorganized the stuff in our bike panniers. Not completely, of course, but after our first day of camping, some things got mixed up, and we realized some other things could have a more logical spot.
Then we decided to take a “short” walk to the coast and back. Here are some pictures of the beautiful nature where we’re staying.

When we got to the coast, I wanted to check out some small graffiti I did on an old bunker back in May 2024.

Bålar’s beard is barely visible, but everything else has vanished. Time for an update! (P.S. If you’re reading this in an email, the video isn’t visible there; click the “Read on blog” link in the top right corner to see it.)
We don’t want to make anyone down south jealous, but the air was fine and the water was so cool on our feet.

After our 9.3 km walk, it was time for a light meal.

For dessert, Leen made a Danish traditional called Piske Fløde. It’s based on a special cream that’s lightly whipped with some sugar.

And to rinse away the sweat we produced on our walk (excuse me for the details, but more will follow), it was time for a shower in the garden of Ruth and Lars.

The flag indicates that the shower is in use!
So it’s almost time for bed. Tomorrow we will bike to Hostrup Strand, a campsite near the beach.
